How We Work
Our Process
- 01
Assess
We walk the site, check the existing base and drainage, and give you a straight answer on whether you need repair, resurfacing, or full-depth replacement.
- 02
Prep & grade
Tear-out where needed, then a compacted stone base graded with the correct pitch, this is where asphalt jobs are won or lost.
- 03
Install
Hot-mix asphalt laid at proper depth and rolled to a uniform, dense finish with clean edges.
- 04
Clean up & walkthrough
We haul away debris, leave the site spotless, and walk the finished surface with you before we call it done.
The JGaskins Difference
Why It Matters
Most asphalt doesn't fail because of traffic, it fails because of water. Pavement laid over a poorly drained base cracks, heaves, and potholes within a few seasons. Because we're a drainage company as much as a paving company, every surface we install is pitched and based to move water away from the asphalt and your home.

Good Questions
FAQ
How much does asphalt paving cost?
Every job starts with a free on-site estimate. Price depends on the size of the area, the condition of the existing base, and access for equipment. We'll measure it, explain your options, and give you a clear number, no obligation.
How long does an asphalt job take?
Most residential driveways are paved in one to two days once work begins. Larger areas or jobs that need significant base repair can take longer, we'll give you a realistic schedule with your estimate.
How long will new asphalt last?
A properly based and drained asphalt surface typically lasts 20 years or more. Periodic sealcoating and keeping water moving off the surface are the two best things you can do to extend its life.
When can we drive on it?
You can usually walk on new asphalt after 24 hours and drive on it after 2–3 days, depending on temperature. Asphalt continues to cure for several months, so we'll give you simple care instructions for the first season.
